NDC researchers have presented their work at top international conferences.
Marcin Kapitaniak and Alicia Terrero Gonzalez represented the NDC at the Dynamic Problems of Mechanics (DINAME) 2025 conference in São Paulo, Brazil. Marcin, Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen and Technical Manager of the NDC’s marine simulator presented his research on the towing dynamics of variable buoyancy anchors for floating offshore wind applications. Alicia, Research Fellow, shared her insights on the dynamics of nonlinear shallow-draft floating offshore wind turbines and their towing operations.
Alethea Madgett presented and was a panellist at the CARAH International Conference on Artificial Reefs and Related Aquatic Habitats in Santa Marta, Colombia. She presented her innovative research on reefing offshore platforms to enhance marine ecosystems and support local fisheries.
