It was a pleasure for The National Decommissioning Centre and the University of Aberdeen to host Mercedes Villalba MSP and Aberdeen City Council Councillors for Bridge of Don Nurul Hoque Ali, and Torry/Ferryhill Simon Watson, along with their colleagues for an insightful afternoon of presentations and discussions.
The event featured an overview from the University of Aberdeen’s Interdisciplinary Institute Director for Energy Transition Professor John Underhill, who provided an update on work supporting the energy transition including research, innovation and skills training. NDC Director Professor Richard Neilson shared insights into NDC projects, research and technology development while Malcolm Stone provided the latest updates on the Data for Net Zero project. The group also had the opportunity to experience the NDC’s marine simulator led by Dr Sam Cauvin and were given a tour of the technical offshore testing facilities available at the NDC by Technician John Polanski.
We are grateful for their time and engagement, and their commitment to learning more about the important work that the University of Aberdeen and the NDC is doing in support of the energy transition.
